Digital service platform Pathao and its employees have contributed Tk 25 lakh to the Chief Adviser's Relief and Welfare Fund to support those affected by the devastating floods across various districts of Bangladesh.
As part of Pathao’s broader commitment to aid the flood-affected communities, employees voluntarily donated their salary for a day and Pathao matched their contribution, according to a press release on Wednesday.
Additionally, the safety coverage fee from each ride taken through its platform from September 1 to 15 will go towards the restoration of flood-affected areas. To further support this cause, Pathao will match the total amount accumulated during this period, doubling the impact of every ride and ensuring that the communities in need receive vital assistance, it said.
Pathao has also partnered with BRAC and the As-Sunnah Foundation to further support the flood relief efforts.
Customers can purchase donation cards in various denominations in the Pathao Shop (available in the Pathao app), with all proceeds going to the relief efforts managed by BRAC and As-Sunnah Foundation, the release said.
Founded in 2015, Pathao is a market leader in ride-sharing, food delivery and e-commerce logistics, serving more than 10 million consumers, daily earners and small businesses in Bangladesh, added the release.
